"My images are mostly inspired by landscape. They do not always represent a particular place, but try to convey a mood or a feeling.
"Although some of the images are etchings, my preferred medium is carborundum printing where carborundum grit is used in a painterly way to produce what are, essentially, monoprints. The results are often unpredictable, especially as creative wiping can give rise to very different images from the same plate. The plates themselves are not very robust and cannot be editioned in the same way as an etching, but this chancy nature of the process is what I enjoy. I also enjoy working in oils."
